I am mildly obsessed with Tory Burch shoes, am a pretty good cook and for some reason, prefer to drink my coffee from a red mug. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday when dozens of people gather at our home for a big dinner. I love when former clients become friends and I never turn down an invitation to go out for a cocktail. My (adult) children are my favorite people in the world and I am happiest when they and their friends are all seated around our big dining room table eating, telling stories, and laughing. My wonderful husband is my biggest fan and still brings me coffee, opens doors for me and vacuums just because it makes me happy.

My house! We live in a farmhouse built in 1863.

Something New

Recently I found myself on the other side of wedding planning when my son got married. It was such a beautiful ceremony and a very fun party. We made a weekend out of it and enjoyed showing our friends and family why we love Baltimore. Even after 30 years of planning weddings though, I learned a lot and have created a new FB group called Wedding Mamas where we share stories and advice about being the mother of the groom or mother of the bride. All Wedding Mamas are invited to join in!

A beautiful set of heirloom sterling silver flatware from my in-laws used at every Thanksgiving dinner at our home.

My bedroom, decorated to look like a day at the beach.

I love working out, girl’s night out and hanging out with my family.  I drink way too much Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee which probably attributes to the fact that I never sleep late. I sometimes start work at 3:00am.  My favorite time of year is any holiday that I can spend with my extended family of 49 (what can I say, they’re Southern).  I believe in love at first sight and that you should be kinder than necessary.   If I’m not at the gym in my Nikes, I am most likely wearing heels.  I have an obsession with bookstores (even though I don’t have much time to read), office supplies and would rather make a phone call than send an email.  My favorite place in the world is anywhere that I can be with my four kids at the same time.  I love to see the bride the minute before she walks down the aisle and think that being a part of the most important day in two people’s lives is the best…job….ever!

Something Old

That I can’t live without: anything James Taylor or Van Morrison, Cocktails on the beach, Family dinners at our favorite “dive” and our golden retriever, Bailey.

Something New

That I am loving right now: The Big Bang Theory, Gold over silver, a handwritten note and “The Bridge” on Sirius Radio.

Something Borrowed

My favorite fabulous inspiration quote: “If You Want Something You’ve Never Had, You Have to Do Something You’ve Never Done”.

Something Blue

Not a lover of many things blue but I have been known to down a blueberry cosmo on occasion…followed by a few blue M&Ms.

I love organizing anything and everything, sparkling water and Bethany Beach. My biggest weaknesses are UTZ white cheddar popcorn and wine. I would rather eat a bag of chips than dessert. I adore being a part of a couple’s special day. I own way too many shoes, black dresses and if you ask my husband, cardigans. I talk to my dog like she is a person, which I think it totally normal. I don’t care for raw onions, the color red and being the center of attention. I can’t go a day without talking to my mom.

Something Old

My engagement ring which was my great grandmothers.

Something New: my house, purchased in April 2014.

A quote which I love: “ Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs

I live for my family and my morning latte, my dog and a good Oregon Pinot. I love Monterey, driving with the windows down, Game of Thrones and football season. Nothing makes me happier than a clean house and full fridge. I can’t decide which I love more; flip flops and jean shorts or leggings and boots. When I grow up I really want to be Olivia Pope.

Something Old

My love of all things wedding! I was buying Bridal Magazines when I was 15 years old and the man behind the counter use to tell me I was too young to get married every month. True Story.

Something New

My job with EBW. After three years as a coordinator in Northern California (Hello Napa!), I just finished my first season with EBW and am THRILLED to be a part of the team.

Something Borrowed

Margaret… my daughters middle name. Borrowed from my Grandmother and in her honor.

I’m a Maryland girl, born and raised, though I took a detour to San Diego and part of my heart will always be there. San Diego led me to a few years in the Caribbean and Bahamas to fulfill my dream of working on a yacht, and I made sure to leave a part of me there so I always have a reason to go back and visit. As the oldest of five I’ve been the group organizer from an early age and I live to make lists just to cross things off. I’m thrilled to be back home and part of the EBW team and love nothing more than seeing a wedding finally come together and share in the couple’s happy day!

Something Old

My love of the ocean and any trip to the beach. I could sit out watching the waves crash all day until sunset, my favorite time of day.

Something New

Living back in Maryland and back on land! Having been gone working on a yacht for 3 years I just got my land legs back, and am lucky enough to join the team at EBW again (I was originally here in 2007-2008)

Something Borrowed

A beautiful diamond dinner ring that my father gave to my mother. Although I’m not sure I can get away with saying its borrowed for much longer since it has resided in my jewelry box for the past 5 years.

Something Blue

Everything! It’s my favorite color — my wallet, phone case, luggage, my eyes, pieces of jewelry. It may be time to branch out and diversify, people are starting to comment.

In-House Therapist

I am the keeper of the office couch, love to make people smile, and may be the calmest dog in Maryland. I love playing at my Grandma’s farm on the weekends but spend most weekdays counseling my EBW co-workers. Some say I am the best employee because I rarely complain and prefer to be paid in treats. Please say hi when you come in, I love meeting new friends.

I love anything Kate Spade, DIY projects and a good book. I live for a beautiful Fall day and morning cuddles with my dog Finn. My amazing boyfriend is a homegrown North Carolina firefighter who is wonderful at building furniture and fixing everything I break. I am a proud alumni of Lynchburg College and miss my sorority sisters and college friends daily. I love city life but prefer the time I spend on my parents farm taking care of the animals, riding my horse, and sitting around the bonfire. I am grateful everyday for my wonderful family and my  mother who always reminds me we are “too blessed to be stressed”.

Something Old

Grandmother’s engagement ring which she left to me when she passed away.

Party Partner

I am a brunch loving, beach bumming southern belle from North Carolina. With enough caffeine I’m pretty sure I can solve any predicament. The Gym is my happy place; there are few things better in life than the high you get from a good workout. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a small town. Farm life was something I just couldn’t give up, so I found a small town farmer in Bel Air, Maryland to settle down with. He is my best friend and partner in crime. When I’m not at the gym or on a tractor my favorite place to be is surrounded by family playing games and eating some of my favorite southern comfort meals.

Something Old

I am an Old Soul. My family jokes that I was born in the wrong decade. Take me back to the days of Cary Grant and Doris Day and I’d be just fine.

Something New

My last name! I was lucky enough to say “I do” to my best friend July 2, 2016.

Something Borrowed

My husbands farm dog Zoey. When he is traveling for work I borrow her to keep me company until he comes home. Being a plus sized German Shepherd makes her the perfect cuddle buddy.

Something Blue

Half of my house. Blue is by far my favorite color, so I try to add it in everywhere I can. From my bedroom walls to my kitchen island there are 50 shades of blue throughout the house.

I grew up in Maryland between Baltimore and Washington, DC and have enjoyed benefiting from what both cities have to offer. I am happily married and have a 100 lb. Ridgeback that thinks she’s a lap dog. My new love is my brand new baby boy, Logan, who makes me smile daily. I will eat almost any dessert or ice cream you put in front of me. I enjoy being outdoors and traveling. Being a part of the EBW team for the past five years has been amazing. I am continually amazed and impressed with each new event created.  While a lot of time and effort are required to setup for a wedding, it is so rewarding to step back and look at how beautiful everything is and to see how much fun the guests are having.

I have a passion for all animals, and have rescued and fostered many dogs and cats over the years. Currently I have 4 dogs, and 5 barn cats. My favorite vacation spot is where the weather is warm and I can see the ocean. I believe attitude is everything. Life is 10% of what happens and 90% of how you react to it. My favorite part of weddings is seeing all the decor come together to make a magical setting for the special couple.

Something Old

My 150 year old house which I have been remodeling for the past 25 years.

I love people!  I love helping people, (probably because I have an overzealous maternal instinct), meeting people, observing people’s reactions to life, especially children, and being a part of a wonderful wedding. I am happiest when I am surrounded by family and friends in Bethany Beach enjoying sun, sand, surf, and good food. I love to cook for others. My biggest weakness is french fries. I don’t like cake, raw oysters or negative people. My grandsons have brought more joy to my life than I could ever have imagined and I adore watching them change, and grow before my very eyes. I am not afraid to try something new, be it food or a new career.

Something Old

I have a Samuel Kirk, silver, cuff bracelet that belonged to my Mother.  These bracelets were designed with flowers of each month. Mine is August and was a bride’s maid’s gift from the wonderful woman who became my Godmother.

Something New

My 6 month old chocolate lab…I love my dogs.

Something Borrowed

Having taught school for 37 years, I know that borrowing from others is a way of life. We all take what intrigues us, add our own spin and create something new and wonderful. The same is true with wedding planning. Each special day has borrowed elements and personal touches creating a one of a kind celebration.

Something Blue

My favorite color!! Every room in my house has something blue in it, and I wear it often.
